Chris writes science fiction and fantasy, as well as nonfiction for writers.
After growing up in California and graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, Chris married a U.S. Air Force officer and moved from state to state, as well as to British Columbia, before settling in Colorado. She now lives in the woods of the Rocky Mountains with her family and her service dog, Finn. Chris writes science fiction and fantasy novels and short stories, as well as nonfiction books for writers. She’s a member of The Sparkling Hammers, a critique group of eclectic writers that provides inspiration, support, and friendship essential to her writing process.
Chris loves coffee, dogs, action movies, mystery and suspense novels, Cal football, hockey, Firefly, and Top Chef. She loves to visit new places and has traveled throughout Europe and the United States, as well as visited Canada, Mexico, Iceland, and Brazil. When at home, she likes to cook and bake, and usually has a cooking show keeping her company in the kitchen. Whatever she's doing, her service dog Finn is usually nearby.
She's not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, and she isn't one for keeping any kind of regular schedule, much to her morning-person-husband's dismay. She drinks a lot of coffee, especially when she's writing, which she likes to do in binges. She can write almost anywhere, but her usual writing spot is a comfy chair at home where she has a great view of the outdoors, the only sound is the wind in the trees, her coffee cup is in reach, and Finn is snoozing by her feet.
